At first glance the geometric order, structure and a warm, earthy color palette of Fasad are a fitting reflection of its inspiration, the architecture and brick façade of Kasthall’s headquarters and mill in Kinna, Sweden. However, look closer and you’ll discover another equally important characteristic – renewability.
In Fasad, the recycled wool yarn that comprises 25% of the wool is the result of a process that transforms previously used wool back into a high-quality fibrous material. The benefits of recycled wool include extended product life, increased quality and reduced environmental impact.

A family of woven rugs
Creative friction
When architects and rug designers collaborate, values such as precision and order must live in harmony with the less structured world of natural materials. Creative friction can occur. But where there’s friction, there’s often a spark.

Fasad occupies the space between nature’s gifts and man’s imagination.

From a desire to create a woven rug collection and an idea based on layering to create structure and height, Fasad was born. Calling on the creative skills of Kasthall and the architectural expertise of David Chipperfield Design, an iterative design process and thousands of hours at Kasthall’s mill in Sweden led to what you see here – a rug that makes a statement today but is crafted to last a lifetime.

With Fasad, experiencing this conviviality and oneness with our interior environment flows naturally. Consider its calm minimalism. Move perspective and let its subtle nuances and structure express themselves. Touch its layered bouclé yarns. Your eyes may see the rug’s lines and blocks.
